This is a male variety that does not fruit but can pollinate other female varieties.

Compact Oregon Grape Holly (Mahonia)

Erect spreading branches are covered by rounded, sharply toothed leaves, dark bluish-green in color turning reddish-bronze to purple in winter. Plant in area protected from winter sun. Berries are edible.
