Montrose Charm White Spruce

Picea glauca 'Montrose Charm'

SPR-MCH

A new variety with Christmas tree form, dense branching habit and 'fuzzy', softer blue-green needles than other white spruce. Fast-growing and will probably grow into a full-sized tree, 30' tall 20' wide over 20 years. Drought tolerant and disease resistant once established. Very cold hard Hardy to -40°F Maximum Elevation: 9,000 ft.

Baby Blue Eyes Colorado Spruce

Baby Blue Eyes Spruce is a conical-shaped, fully branched selection of Colorado Spruce with a uniform growth habit and intense blue needles. On the average it will grow upward about 8 inches per year compared to some Colorado Spruce that can grow as much as 12 to 18 inches upward per year. Since it is a grafted plant , the growth rate can vary depending on the rootstock (understock) that it is grafted on to. It is most commonly grafted on to Picea abies (Norway Spruce) because of the vigorous root system that allows for better transplanting. Some trees that have been reported to be "dwarf" probably were grafted on to a less vigorous root system. All in all it is a very beautiful tree with a very appealing name that should be considered to be a average size spruce tree. Hardy to -40°F Maximum Elevation: 9,000 ft.

Bacheri Blue Colorado Spruce

A grafted selection of Colorado Spruce with a good blue color. Its slender habit and upward angled branches make it a good choice for smaller yards. The growth rate is about 10-12" per year.

Black Hills Spruce

A conical growing evergreen with very dense foliage. Nicely used as a specimen or for windbreak. Best in full sun but will tolerate some shade.

Bonny Blue Colorado Spruce

Very short needles earned Bonny Blue its name and fame. The tiny, narrow needles are bright blue and closely arranged with an angle that is acute to the stem. Slower growing than the species when young, the tree, selected by Roger Mackiness, Corbett, Oregon, matures into a large formal stature.

Colorado Blue Spruce

One of the most popular evergreens for our area. A stately evergreen tree valued for its classic pyramid shape. Stiff short needles range in color from silver-blue to green. Grows about 1 ft per year and tolerates a wide range of soil types. Performs best in a regularly irrigated area.

'Continental' Colorado Blue Spruce

Continental is an upright, pyramidal growing blue spruce. It is densely branched, with dark blue needles. Slower growing and great for smaller yards or tight spots where other spruce will outgrow.

Meyer's Chinese Spruce

Meyer's Blue Spruce has an attractive blue-green hue with a dense pyramidal habit & short needles. Refined form with a medium growing habit is tolerant of urban conditions & is more disease resistant than other spruce species. Discovered in Western China in 1908 & named after Frank N. Meyer of the US Department of Agriculture. He collected seeds for Harvard University's Arnold Arboretum at the temple of Tchai-ling-tse which sits at 9,000 feet above sea level. Drought tolerant

R.H. Montgomery Dwarf Colorado Blue Spruce

Slow growing, dwarf spruce with a compact branch habit forms a symmetrical cone shape. The pointed needles are blue gray. Similar to Globe Blue Spruce, this variety becomes broad, pyramidal when mature.

Mrs. Cesarini Dwarf Colorado Green Spruce

A compact, rounded, flat-topped bush that at maturity is wider than high, with green needles. 'Mrs. Cesarini' is very similar to the Globe Blue Spruce, but with green needles. It is a very hardy tough shrub that will offer year round color.

This is a very blue selection of spruce. It keeps its color well throughout the winter.

Serbian Spruce

A tree with a slender trunk and short ascending or drooping branches forming a very narrow, pyramidal head. One of the most graceful of the spruces.

A stunning blue needled spruce. A perfectly shaped small blue spruce for small areas. Tolerates full sun and requires no pruning to keep it's form. This spruce grows much slower than Colorado Spruce.

The Blues Weeping Colorado Spruce
