A profusion of single, violet-purple flowers appear in early to mid-summer on a tumbling mass of dark green foliage. Plant in area where roots are kept shaded and tops exposed to the sun. Prune heavy every few years. Other years prune after flower to achieve longer bloom season.

Large pastel pink flowers with a contrasting dark pink to reddish bar down the center of each petal. Blooms heavily in spring and repeats in late summer. Prune out dead wood in spring. Every few years, prune to healthy buds 3-4 feet tall to rejuvenate.

Niobe Clematis

Velvety, rich, deep ruby petals with yellow stamens, flowering in late spring and summer on 8-12 foot stems. If heavily pruned in spring, flowers will bloom late in the season. If pruned lightly, flowers will bloom summer into fall.
