Spring Wonder™ Sargent Cherry

This upright vase-shaped tree is native to Japan and blooms in early May with single pink flowers. The bark is a polished, reddish brown. Originated from seed collected in Hokkaido, Japan by Roland Jefferson, an arborist at the U. S. National Arboretum. Introduced by Bailey Nurseries for Normandale Community College. No fruit noticed to date.
