This variety has a dense, bushy form that is grafted on a regular Catalpa trunk to give it a unique umbrella appearance. This form rarely if ever blossoms. This is truly a tough, time-tested specimen.

A hardy, interesting shade tree with large, light green leaves and big white flowers followed by long bean-like seed pods persisting into winter. Tolerates heat and cold well. This tree is easy to grow and tolerates many conditions. It should be used much more often.
